On welcoming my readers to this site, I would think it wise to provide a brief desciption as to the precise purpose of Uuh! Magazine. So here goes:

The name of this publication derives from the sound emitted by yours truly when listening to ‘grunt-worthy songs,’ such as James Brown’s I Feel Good or Giacomo Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro. It is also the sound I hope my readers will  emphatically emit when reaching the end of some of the fine articles that will appear in this magazine.

Editor: Uuh! Magazine

I imagine that to begin with the magazine might be rather like marmite, in that some people will love it, some people will hate it, and a large portion of people will be entirely ambivalent to it, and be overcome with frustration when instructed to have a strong opinion one way or the other.

As our work progresses, however, I hope that it will become less like marmite and more like marmalade, or chutney, or some other spreadable conserve that is loved by all. Ideally it might become the veritable strawberry jam of the magazine world.

I see no good reason why this should not be the case. After all, following months of negotiations with experts in a number of fields, I have been able to pull together a quite formiddable team of columnists, each of whom will regularly produce content of the highest value. And as if that wasn’t good enough, I too will regularly contribute with editorial comment of my own - what a treat!

I envision a world in which all of my readers are grunting and laughing in unison, as they peruse articles from editor and columnists alike. Uuh!
